GIMS , real name Ганди Джуна , is a Congolese singer, rapper, and composer born on May 6, 1986. He grew up in a musical family: his father was a member of the group Papa Wemba , and his brothers also became rappers. GIMS began his career as a member of the group Sexion d'Assaut , later achieving success as a solo artist. His albums, such as "Ceinture Noire" , include the hits "Bella" and "Sapés comme jamais" the latter of which won a Victoires de la Musique award. GIMS has had a significant influence on French rap and pop music, fusing African roots with contemporary genres.
