1. Он лежал совсем один на песчаном берегу,
Уцелевший после кораблекрушенья…
И в ночное небо он устремлял движенье губ,
И других не в силах сделать был движений.
А наутро, обойдя этот остров, понял он,
Что людей при всём желаньи не отыщет,
И смирившись, наконец, смастерил, как Робинзон,
Из обломков корабля себе жилище.
И каждый день он Господа молил,
Чтоб Бог ему послал корабль спасенья,
Но день за днём в томленьи проходил,
И не было, казалось, избавленья.
2. Но однажды целый день на охоте он провёл
И вернувшись к шалашу, вскричал от горя:
Всё, что было у него, как один большой костёр
Полыхало до небес на фоне моря.
-За что?- он гневно Господа спросил, —
Неужто не испил сполна я чаши?
И, зарыдав, на землю пал без сил,
Не зная, как теперь ему жить дальше.
3. Он проснулся от того, что знакомый сердцу звук
Заполнял собой прибрежное пространство…
Сердце замерло, когда Робинзон увидел вдруг,
Как корабль приближается прекрасный…
Он побежал по краешку земли,
Ещё не веря, что корабль реальный.
И крикнул он: «Как вы меня нашли?»
—
«Мы видели большой костёр сигнальный!»
4. Как бывает нелегко нам принять смиренно скорбь
И увидеть Промыслительную Руку,
И готовы мы подчас Богу выразить укор.
Но в скорбях мы обретаем силу духа.
Пока горят сигнальные костры,
К нам ближе Бог, и верится в спасенье…

Not knowing how to live now.
3. He woke up from the fact that the sound familiar to the heart
Filled the coastal space ...
My heart sank when Robinson suddenly saw
As the beautiful ship approaches...
He ran to the ends of the earth,
Still not believing that the ship is real.
And he shouted: "How did you find me?"

4. How difficult it is for us to humbly accept sorrow
And see the Providence Hand,
And we are sometimes ready to express reproach to God.
But in sorrows we gain the strength of the spirit.
While the signal fires are burning
God is closer to us, and we believe in salvation...
