1. Он не имел ни рук, ни ног, он сам ни есть, ни пить не мог,
Он человека был кусок: таким его уж создал Бог.
Но у него была душа — большая, как воздушный шар.
Он всей душой любил Того, Кто сотворил таким его.
2. Он всё лежал или сидел, казалось, был он не у дел,
Он только песни петь умел да в небо синее смотрел.
Но иногда отца просил, чтоб в церковь тот его сносил,
И в церкви пел он про Того, Кто сотворил таким его.
3. На жизнь свою он не роптал, глядел в окно, псалмы читал,
А кто калеку обижал — за тех молился и прощал.
Ещё мечтал он рисовать, ведь мог он кисть во рту держать,
И рисовать он стал Того, Кто сотворил таким его.

Но приукрасил церковь он, взирал Господь с его икон.

1. He had neither arms nor legs, he himself neither could eat nor drink,
He was a piece of a man: God had already created him that way.
But he had a soul - big as a balloon.
He loved with all his soul the One who made him so.
2. He was still lying or sitting, it seemed he was out of work,
He only knew how to sing songs and looked into the blue sky.
But sometimes he asked his father to take him to church,
And in the church he sang about the One who made him so.
3. He did not grumble for his life, looked out the window, read psalms,
And those who offended the cripple - prayed for them and forgave.
He also dreamed of drawing, because he could hold a brush in his mouth,
And he began to draw the One Who created him so.

But he embellished the church, the Lord looked from his icons.
Well, then his soul flew like a balloon
Away from the earth, under the shelter of the One who made him so.
