Мы любимых своих провожаем, целуем им руки,
Преподносим цветы и пытаемся как-то развлечь,
А когда они рядом, живем в ожидании разлуки,
Но разлука придет — и мы вновь в ожидании встреч.
Наша жизнь нас кружит, в своем вихре стремительном вертит,
И все кажется нам — бесконечна у времени нить,
Мы страдаем и любим и живем в ожидании смерти,
Вот она у ворот — не проси ее повременить.
Вот какой парадокс, не к добру видно бьется посуда,
Но мы верим и бьем, и — Аминь!, и — Во веки веков!
И так было всегда — мы живем в ожидании чуда,
Привыкаем и ждем его вновь.

What a paradox, we cannot find a direct answer,
What do we expect from life?
Why are we all so capricious?
In icy February we live in anticipation of summer,
And in July we are sad and live in anticipation of winter.
We see off our loved ones, kiss their hands,
We present flowers and try to entertain somehow,
And when they are near, we live in anticipation of separation,
But separation will come - and we are again waiting for meetings.
Our life is spinning us, spinning us in its swift whirlwind,
And everything seems to us - the thread of time is endless,
We suffer and love and live in anticipation of death,
Here she is at the gate - do not ask her to wait.
What a paradox, it’s not for good that the dishes are beating,
But we believe and beat, and - Amen!, and - Forever and ever!
And it has always been like this - we live in expectation of a miracle,
We get used to it and look forward to it again.
