Все в замке том спит мертвым сном,
Только не смыкает глаз дракон.
Рог зазвучал, на доспехи легли
Отблески полной луны.
В битву пора стражу добра —
Драконы не страшны!
Путь его к логову змея привел.
Здесь стены колючий кустарник оплел.
Башни застыли, и небо пронзили
Острые шпили, над ними злых чар ореол.

Близок враг, и смерть близка.

И до рассвета шло сраженье —
Метались призрачные тени,
Звенела сталь, пылало пламя,
