Опустели луга, пожелтела листва,
Лишь оставила стая среди бури и метели
Одного с перебитым крылом журавля.
Расскажу я вам люди, как родился и вырос,
Как учился у брата по карманам шнырять,
Как однажды под вечер в КПЗ я очутился,
А потом у решетки тихо плакала мать.
Тихо скрипнула дверь, конвоир бородатый
Предлагал мне подняться и выйти во двор,
Он с поганой улыбкой угрожал мне автоматом.
Сердце больно забилось, я нахмурил свой взор.
Грянул выстрел в тумане, небо вдруг закружилось,
И с простреленной грудью я на землю упал,
Вспомнил я журавля, и как это случилось,
И как он на поляне один умирал.
Журавли, журавли, вы опять прилетите,
Но уже не найдете вы того журавля,
У которого было крыло перебито
И который остался одинокий, как я…
