Der Eselskönig kehret ein zu unserem heiligen Reigen,
Du sollst der Narren Herrscher sein, wir wollen uns verneigen.

Ihm folget des Tanzes Fürst am Tritt, dann Bacchus gleich ganz flott

Dann kam ein Schalk, des Königs Narr, Thalia und Gott Pan,
Der heiteren Muse volle Schar mit ihren Spielen an.
Auf lustiges Volk, bis ganz zuletzt ein trauriges Bild sich bot,
Ein dürres Weib, das Kleid zerfetzt, es war die liebe Not.
Doch soll sie heut von Adel sein und eine Krone tragen,
