Der Wecker schellt um sieben, und ich hab Kaffee gemacht,

Und ich dreh mich einmal um, schon ist der ganze Tag rum.
Weil kein Mensch so schnell versteht, wie die Zeit vergeht.
Die Weihnachtsgans liegt noch halbverdaut im Magen,
schon geht es heiter weiter mit den Karnevalstagen.
«Dschingderassabumm"und ne rote Pappnase,
es klingelt an der Tür, das ist der Osterhase.
Eiermalen, Eiersuchen, Eierlikör,
vor dem ersten Mai noch schnell zum Frisör!
Pfingsten gibt’s bei Tante Marlies Kaffee und Kuchen
— verdammt, ich muß ja noch meinen Urlaub buchen!
Und ich dreh mich einmal um, schon ist das halbe Jahr rum.
Weil kein Mensch so schnell versteht, wie die Zeit vergeht.
Der Urlaub ist vorbei — Sonne, Strand und geiles Wetter.
Kaum zuhause, fall’n natürlich prompt die ersten Blätter!
Wieder keine Zeit für erforderliche Taten,
denn es ist soweit: Ich muß die Weihnachtsgans braten…
Im Augenblick bin ich noch nicht mal Ende zwanzig,
doch in ein paar Sekunden wird die gute Butter ranzig.
(pause) dann hab ich meine siebzig Jahre abgerissen,
und kurz darauf wird in das grüne Gras gebissen.
Vielleicht wird’s dann ja noch was Himmlisches geben,
so mancher nennt den Zustand Ewiges Leben.
Läßt Petrus mich hinein, gibt es keinen Grund zu trauern:
Das Ganze dürfte dann ja wohl was länger dauern!
Ich sag im Himmel kurz und knapp alle Termine ab.
Dann hab ich endlich für mich Zeit, und zwar ne Ewigkeit.

it rings at the door, that's the easter bunny.
Egg painting, egg hunt, eggnog,
before the first of May, quickly to the hairdresser!
Whitsun there is coffee and cake at Aunt Marlies
— damn it, I still have to book my vacation!
And I turn around, half the year is already over.
Because no one understands how time flies.
Vacation is over — sun, beach and great weather.
As soon as you get home, the first leaves fall, of course!
Again no time for required actions,
because the time has come: I have to roast the Christmas goose...
At the moment I'm not even in my late twenties,
but in a few seconds the good butter goes rancid.
