Сады притихли.
Туча идёт темна, светла.
Двух путников дорога далеко увела.
Проходят мимо яблонь, смородины густой
С попутчицей случайной учитель молодой.

И тросточкой рассеянно по яблоням стучал.
Потом разговорились, но, подступив стеной,
Дождь зашумел по листьям и хлынул проливной.
Они под клён свернули: его листва густа.
Но падает сквозь листья тяжёлая вода.
Накрылись с головою они одним плащом
И девушка прижалась к его груди плечом.
Идёт в район машина — водителю смешно:
Стоят накрывшись двое, а дождь
Прошёл давно.
