Летая по спящему лесу, я что-то заметил во тьме.
Это с подбитым крылом Ангел лежал на траве.
«Не бросай», — прошептал еле слышно и в этих робких словах
Так откровенно и чисто звучали надежда и страх.
И я взял его в черные когти… А утром когда рассвело
Проснулся Ангел здоровым и снова встал на крыло.
Он мне сказал: «Когда-то придется расстаться с тьмой.
Так выбирай: остаешься или летишь со мной?
Там тебе будет не нужно дорогу искать на слух.
Сбрось свои черные крылья и оденься в перья и пух».
И мы полетели сквозь утро, и я увидел в утренней мгле,
Что даже Ангел имеет черную тень на земле,
Что с каждым ангелом было то, что случилось со мной,
Что даже белые внешне, все они с черной душой.

Flying through the sleeping forest, I noticed something in the darkness.
