
Luiz Bonfá (1922–2001) was a Brazilian guitarist and composer known for his work in Latin American music, jazz, and pop. Born in Brazil, he rose to international fame with his composition "Manhã de Carnaval" written for the cult film "Orfeu Negro" His work had a significant influence on the development of bossa nova, as well as on the popularization of Brazilian music abroad. Luiz Bonfá collaborated with artists such as Stan Getz and Frank Sinatra and released numerous classic albums. His contribution to global music remains significant to this day.
