Струн живая вязь — о тебе ли, князь;

Тугой металл в руках зазвучал,

Она тебе лира или клинок?
Сталью ты стал, с болью ты спал,
С ее любовью спорить не стал!
В вороний стан вороных стай
Вернулся верный Тристан.
Улетал во все четыре стороны,
Пел о ней путями горными.
Мерил мили дней гривами коней,
Там, где вороной стал вороном.
Забыл свой дом за льдом и огнем,
Был возрожден ясным дождем
Из пепла, в котором сожжен;
Был сожжен...
Мой серебряный, живой металл,
Как сердце стучал;
ночами читал
Между струн, между строк:
Она — клинок, она же -
Сталь, с которой ты спал,

И в горный стан вороньих стай
