lo sguardo si bloccava, il colore scompariva, fermo, immobile, di pietra, sì,
tutto di pietra, e io vedevo già il suo busto davanti a un’aiuola con su
scritto: «Professor Malipiero — una vita per la scuola», e chissà perché anche
durante questa allucinazione mi veniva sempre in mente una stranissima canzone:

Adesso che son grande ringrazio il Signore
