Amilcare Амилькаре Понкьелли was an Italian composer born in 1834 in Paderno Fasolaro, Italy. He is considered one of the most prominent figures in 19th-century opera. His most famous opera, "Джоконда" , first performed in 1876, brought him international recognition, particularly for its celebrated "Dance of the Hours."
