Zandonai: Giulietta e Romeo / Act 3 - Giulietta! Son io!
(original)
or sui capelli tuoi,
Voglio posare il cuor sopra
il tuo cuore
E la bocca che il pianto ha lacerato
Vuol la tua bocca amore.
Ah!
Come, dimmi, ti potro invocare,
Con quale nome più soave santo?
Ah!
Comme, dimmi, ti saprò destare,
Con qual grito,
Con qual dolce pianto,
Con quale ardente bacio,
Anima mia?
Giulietta mia!
Oh!
Morta!
Morta!
Morta!
Dannanto me!
Son io, Romeo… oime!
(translation)
Juliet, it's me,
I, can't you see me?
I who do not cry anymore
I who implore you,
I who come to fall dead at your feet
Why blissful and desperate
I die without you, my soul.
So Juliet.
But the cold hands
now on your hair,
I want to put my heart on it
your heart
And the mouth that tears have torn
Your mouth wants love.
Ah!
How, tell me, can I invoke you,
With what name more sweet saint?
Ah!
Comme, tell me, I will know how to wake you up,
With what grito,
With what sweet tears,
With what ardent kiss,
My soul?
My Juliet!
Oh!
Dead!
Dead!
Dead!
Damn me!
It's me, Romeo ... oime!

The pitch of emotion is the essential thing about these lines, and for that, the lyrics are good. What a difference from Gounod's Romeo et Juliette. I would recommend listening not only to Alagna, but to Kaufmann.
