What gives you the right to put down my scene
When you know doing this has always been my dream
I’ve finally done something I know I helped with
Still you shove my aspirations and call out scene a myth
You’re the one up front putting us down

Our music’s purpose;
not for social gain
Five bucks or not I’ll always feel the same
It takes a long time to climb to the top
Still I’ll be here
But five months after you started playing
You want a record deal
It takes a lot of modivation and dedication to get what you want
And sitting around watching others do it for you won’t get you a lot
I remember the days going to shows, watching the bands, and wishing I was them
And I would go to sleep with a smile on my face dreaming of when I could join
them
Did you ever have dreams like that or did you expect it all along
Well success never comes to those who don’t put their hearts in their songs
My advice to you: be open-minded towards others
Cause you’re not the only one who wants to go farther
