Сталь разрывала плоть,

Крик разорвал на бинты белый флаг.
Я был создан идти через штормы, через океаны,
На своём пути сокрушать всех врагов.
Но за доблесть и риск я был продан, предан и обманут –
И мой обелиск у ирландских берегов.
Я помню, как я пошёл ко дну,
Был восемь лет в плену.
И вот – я опять на дне,
За что – кто ответит мне?
Тьма вокруг –
Только мерцающий свет наверху.
Свет чужих побед долетает эхом до меня.
Гудит моя броня – это сердце бьёт тревогу.
Вновь зовёт вперёд вера беспощадная моя.
Взойдёт опять заря – за Родину, царя и Бога.
