Walter Becker (1950–2017) was an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. Originally from the United States, he co-founded the jazz-rock band Steely Dan , where he performed as guitarist, bassist, and co-songwriter. Becker met Donald Fagen while studying at Bard College, marking the beginning of their fruitful collaboration.
