
Victor Young (1900–1956) was an American-born composer, arranger, and violinist. He worked in the genres of soundtracks, pop music, and jazz. Victor Young wrote music for numerous films, including such notable works as the soundtrack to Around the World in 80 Days, for which he received a posthumous Оскар . This made him the second posthumous recipient of the award, after Ховарда Сидни . His contributions to the music industry include collaborations with major Hollywood studios and the creation of melodies that have become cinematic classics.
