
Otis Rush (1935–2018) was an American blues singer and guitarist born in the United States. His guitar style was characterized by a slow, swell-toned sound, jazzy arpeggios, and a penchant for sustained notes. Otis Rush became one of the key figures of western Chicago blues, alongside artists such as Luther Allison , Magic Sam , Buddy Guy , and Albert King . His work significantly influenced musicians such as Mike Bloomfield , Eric Clapton , Peter Green , and Stevie Ray Vaughan . Otis Rush made a huge contribution to the development of blues, inspiring an entire generation of guitarists.
