A pivotal figure in 1970s and 1980s disco, he has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, including more than four million in France. His hit single "Love in C Minor" reached #3 on the charts, selling three million copies. The album "Supernature", which sold eight million copies, blended symphonic orchestration with synthesizers, showcasing his innovative approach.
