Bernard Butler (born 1 May 1970) is an Irish-born British musician, songwriter, and producer. He rose to prominence as the original guitarist for Suede , with whom he remained until 1994. His guitar style has received critical acclaim, and in 2010, he was ranked 24th in a national BBC poll as one of the greatest guitarists of the last 30 years. Since leaving Suede , he has continued to enjoy a successful career, collaborating with artists such as Duffy and releasing solo albums.
