Suddenly, from nowhere,
A rain descended—wild, relentless, drumming.
The Rebbe called out, hailing the sullen cloud:
“Cease your pouring, let your rivers rest!”
All the Hasidim emerged as dry as parchment—

The Rebbe stood, his robes a sodden tapestry.
Chiribim, chiribom…
They say in the town of Chelm,
Only fools abide there, weaving folly’s thread.
Had we been wise,
Would we wear such radiant faces?
They laugh from dawn to dusk, from dusk to dawn,
And tears refuse to visit their bright eyes.
So tell me—who among us is truly foolish,
And who is wise?
