| I was half asleep in my bed last night
| I thought a whole lot about Christmas day
| I looked at the calendar-believe it or not
| It was 24 days away!
| So I thought I’d write a letter to my
| Very good friend who lives up where
| It’s very cold
| I put this letter in an envelope
| C/O Santa Claus-North Pole!
| Dear Santa Claus
| I’m writing because
| I’ve got something special to say
| You’re busy I know
| But I had to let you know
| What I wanted on Christmas day
| I wouldn’t mind a dolly with long blonde hair
| And make up on her face
| And she would sleep with me in my bed
| At night
| Please send some clothes that she could wear
| And a pretty litte ornament for her hair
| I would cuddle her oh so very tight!
| I couldn’t sleep a wink
| I tossed and turned
| Thinkin' ‘bout the things I want and said
| Visions of presents goin' 'round and 'round
| As dreams went through my head
| Sugar plums, spice and everything nice
| I could not quite make up my mind
| When I look in my stocking on Christmas day
| What in the world will I find?
| Dear Santa Claus |
| You’re so far away
| If you’re busy-then, well, it’s okay
| But if you are not
| I’d like it a lot
| If you came to my house Christmas day!
| You could bring along a coloring book
| And lots of crayons, too
| Bet I could paint your picture
| Make it look a lot like you
| I’ve really been a good girl
| As good as I can be
| So Santa please-remember me.
| Dear Santa Claus
| It’s getting late
| I’m counting reindeer instead of sheep
| Well I better go
| Any minute I know
| I will be fast asleep
| (Don't forget me Santa Claus) |
