The Workshop |
I’ve been working hard all my life |
Well this here’s the workshop |
And we’ve been open for hours |
Supply demand, here’s the flour |
The money the power, ain’t got no time for these cowards |
We work hard everyday now |
Yeah we work hard for the saving |
Yeah we work hard, we work hard, we work hard for the slaving |
Been working hard my whole life trying to execute my plans |
I’ve got overwhelming supply for all these new demands |
Years ago i was ahead of my time, too advanced |
They wouldn’t listen if you couldn’t make them move and dance |
My real life stories weren’t enough and were too insufficient |
Probably why my deal got shut down, i mean this is a business |
But i hopped right back to my feet, ya know? |
within an instant |
And kept adding to my catalog, now it’s real extensive |
The older cats love me, the young dudes respect me |
I wanna flourish but the powers that be won’t let me |
My competition is jealous but will never come check me |
I’m still street, if you step you better do it correctly |
I give this pen my all ahead of these sessions |
The work i put in, in the past can never be questioned |
So i submit my deepest thoughts instead of confessions |
And continue counting dollars, dimes and every blessing |
Well this here’s the workshop |
And we’ve been open for hours |
Supply demand, here’s the flour |
The money the power, ain’t got no time for these cowards |
We work hard everyday now |
Yeah we work hard for the saving |
Yeah we work hard, we work hard, we work hard for the slaving |
Between rocks and hard places, favors i had to ask |
Ain’t too proud to beg, especially when i ain’t have the cash |
But i came up, the bag i grabbed and stashed |
Good news move slow, bad news travels fast |
Only regret was the list of the things that i didn’t say |
Success felt far, i was only a hit away |
Some said i should have i left, when others didn’t stay |
That’s when I called an audible, i switched the play |
Things changed, and i started getting calls |
Wanting me to join their team but that was a different cause |
They didn’t understand i stuck to my code and strictest laws |
If everyone’s doing it i don’t wanna get involved |
I was pacing myself, when they couldn’t stay consistent |
So they started calling me cocky, shallow, narcissistic |
I wanted everyone to win, i was altruistic |
I gave them all a chance and they missed it |
