| Down through the ages men have died for women
| And they done so, so many times
| Each time I loved one, I always lost one
| Seems like the right one is so hard to find.
| And, I’m Shopping for dresses with no one to wear them
| One in each color, and one in each style.
| Maybe someday if I’m lucky
| I’ll find someday to wear them,
| And my shopping will be done for awhile.
| Somewhere a lady’s shopping for britches
| Comparing the value, and appraising each pair.
| Maybe someday the good Lord will bring us together
| And we’ll both have new wardrobes to wear
| I’m shopping for dresses with no one to wear them
| One in each color, and one in each style.
| Maybe someday if I’m lucky
| I’ll find someone to wear them
| And my shopping will be done for awhile.
| Maybe someday if good Lord
| Will put us together
| And my shopping will be done for awhile |
