Carcass is a British metal band from Liverpool, formed in 1985. Considered one of the founders of the goregrind genre, they later shifted to melodic death metal. Among their best-known albums are "Heartwork" and "Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious" which significantly influenced the development of extreme metal. The band temporarily went on hiatus in 2008, but left an indelible mark on the genre, inspiring many followers.
