So the average working man
Makes a living wage of nearly thirty grand
But the value that this work does bring
Is much closer ninety
So that means sixty off the top
Goes Directly to boss man’s hand
That’s how they keep those mansions up
And that’s just the average
Now of that thirty grand
That you bring to the kids
Another third comes right off the top
Directly to Uncle Sam
But you see that plain as day
As it flies from of your hand
So you feel that loss But your boss is getting six times much more than them
But everything’s good
I know you probably take it as a point of pride
You’re gonna «stand up to the man»
But the faces that are put out front of you
Are only just a sales force
The simple truth is everywhere
And everything demands
That we keep this beastie fat and fed
For this we’ve agreed all hands
So you use these bootstraps
To Turn the clock back
An all agree that
We want to relax
We got the weekend
We got vacation
We got freedom of choice — approximation
And You can buy what you wanted to buy
So Everything’s fine
But you see that plain as day
Money flies from your hand
And you feel that cost but the boss is getting six times much more than Sam
