Mother Sri Sarasvati, shelter me
Dweller in Kamakoti’s sacred seat
Lotus-tender hands that cradle the veena
Whose sovereign speech outsoars the farthest verge
Adornment of all grace
At whose feet the king of kings bows down in prayer
Lotus-eyed देवी of dawnlit gaze
Fair-faced, with a moon made warm and human
Clever fulfiller of the good man’s heart-kept wish
With gem-wrought garlands brightened by thine inward virtues
Whom Brahma the Unborn bends low to praise
Whom Vasudeva
Adored at thy feet as the very soul of all the Vedas
