We wander these ancient corridors
Abandoned since its conception
A dank musk fills the air

Of the beast
A giant abomination
Born of the gods of the second age
His club, once the great tree of life

A corrupt gem embedded
By the Old Ones
Birthed the Minotaur
Of its fruit, the rotten hearts of men
Enticed by the potential, encouraged their doom
Elation turned to fear
As it grew
It fed on acts of death
The tree that cradled the calf
Uprooted as a terrible club
The land dried and soon died
As the appetite of the beast grew
The walls once meant to protect
Now act to imprison
Like a spider’s web

As we break through the rubble
And challenge the demon

To reclaim the gem
