| I try with gentle reason
| Blow the corner of your eye
| Try to move the creature
| Deeply buried there
| Watch you grow out long
| Still
| Gets really scared
| Roll your tongue back out
| Chasing the faeries
| The one I love
| With their perfect nose
| Has their own set of keys
| To a place I’ve really only heard of
| Though my belongings are scattered ‘round the skirt of it
| I accept, now
| There’s no place on earth that fits
| I see there’s no option for you to really choose me
| So I seek out the only other lizard on earth who’s ever known me
| And reality’s a shadow
| I climb it like a ladder
| Twisted
| The forms this city takes
| Once again with that gentle reason
| Embark upon a pain
| I’ve been forced to swallow so many words for
| But the language erodes and
| Unearths me more |
