| He tries so hard to get himself together.
| But he’s so weak he couldn’t lift a feather.
| And it looks as though it’s gonna be bad weather,
| When he comes down from the clouds.
| His mother says, I wish he’d should stop his drinking.
| He’s like a ship that’s on the verge of sinking.
| But she don’t see his pupils as they’re shrinking,
| When he’s away in the clouds.
| He’s just a boy with a problem he caun’t conceal.
| He thinks he’s controlling his habit,
| But soon from this earth
| He will leave
| He used to be a very happy fellow,
| And everything he did was very mellow.
| But now his skin is slowly turning yellow,
| Looking just like a bad dream.
| He used to play a melody so pretty.
| On a silver stick a long way from the city.
| But now my heart is so filled up with pity.
| What can we do with him now.
| He’s just a boy with a problem he caun’t conceal.
| He thinks he’s controlling his habit.
| But soon from this earth
| He will leave
| I’m gonna write a song and send it to him.
| And maybe he will see just what I’m feelin'.
| I’ve still got love and hope and my affection,
| To keep him from fading away.
| The earth is pure, its veins are rivers of water.
| And man should be as a father to a daughter.
| But he does what he likes, because he thinks he’s bought her.
| Laughing while he injects her with his filth.
| He’s just a boy with a problem, lost out in space
| We’re turning him into a junkie, look at his face,
| What a disgrace! |
