| I traveled to the North
| Where Aurora light the dawn
| Danced among the Eskimos
| And joined the whales in song
| I wandered South
| To the undiscovered land
| The last remaining wilderness
| Unspoiled by hands of man
| You’re staring right through
| Like my heart is made of glass
| That’s all I am to you
| A shadow that you pass
| I journeyed to the East
| Arms wide to the rising sun
| To the shrines of soul & spirit
| Where head & heart are one
| I’ve seen the West
| Where science rules the day
| And Gods of awe & wonder
| Have withered & gone away
| You’re staring right through
| Like my heart is made of glass
| But what am I to you?
| Some clown who makes you laugh
| Can’t you see this is flesh & bone
| Though my heart is made of clay
| As sure as I’m alone
| I’m just one look away
| I’ve renamed this earth
| In search of «deeper» things
| Always hoping for a meaning
| For the peace that wisdom brings
| No sun so hot
| No mountain of ice so cold
| No distant faith or dream
| Can ever fill the hole
| It’s always been right here
| All the reason that I need
| You thawed this frozen heart of mine
| When you caused the rock to bleed
| But will you tell me what good is love
| If I can’t even say the word
| Without it life is mute
| Like a song that goes unheard
| And you’re staring right through
| Like my heart is made of glass
| Is that all I am to you?
| I’m just too afarid to ask
| You could shape these hands of stone
| And mold this heart of clay
| As sure as I’m alone
| I’m just one look away |
