Getting off the trail
I heard an unknown sound
Sliding on the surface of the water
What is it, a wild swarm
Or a beast’s grin?
No, it’s a horrendous scream
Chilling you to the bone
Which none of the forest animals
Could ever produce
And the animals, hearing that sound
Flying over the forest like a wind
Get in a hurry to burrow in their holes
It’s Leshy calling for them from deeps of the woods
He’s calling them servants of the Forest Lord
To hurry up home, as the winter is close
He’s hurrying up to come under th ground
And wait until spring will return
