| Yeah I got a passion for this penmanship
| I write rhymes like an Inuit
| Titanic flow glacier water
| Really getting into it
| Surface like an iceberg though not just a little bit
| I write rhymes about what I see
| Like the igloo stick
| Literal antithesis
| Over-exaggerated personified hyperbole
| Arch-nemesis
| I stumble on the humble so the audience can get intimate
| I want people to catch this like a cold on a business trip
| Don’t mind me if I’m warming up
| It’s a tricky finger and I’m running up a mug shoot
| Of elodic metaphors that matters couldn’t duck
| Speech impediment eh yeah I’m running up the clutz like
| Bring it back my DJ is a quater-back
| With different states of mind
| On his mind like a quarter’s back
| And I’m the receiver on the other side of the speaker
| Tricking with you tweetin' with you
| Heard me speaking freedom
| Yeah yeah see see
| I refuse to make ends meet when I can make pens speak
| From universities all the way to penitentiaries
| Interpret how you want to interpret
| I know what it meant to me
| I wrote it how I wrote it |
| Out of the way
| It was meant to be
| I love rhyming
| Like Neil’s wife loves diamonds
| Like Art and Simon
| They love the sound of silence
| I get perturbed when words turn into violence
| So my nads are really nuds when my verbs hear the sirens
| I said I read the books then I write them the mic
| Then invite them through the speakers
| In which the crowd then recites it
| Brings it back into the hood in which they ignite
| The spark that was started way back in the day
| Keep the fire going burning down the system of plauge
| Same system got our kids going to war at their age
| Now age with their wisdom while they’re fighting anyway
| But just to get up out the hood they will fight in any way
| So I’m putting down my chips like Fritos Lays
| Dip into my rhyme book find them answers this way
| Swear the answers for the people like I’m MLK
| On a beat with a swing that has no chain
| Just a four four knocking at your door more
| Leaving you to more or acts for
| All from New Bern to Baltimore
| New Bern to Bridgeport
| I’m digging deep in these rhymes |
| Sure I wrote this with a pitchfork |
