| Descending, strangling out the light
| Pervasive, overtaking
| Shadowy ignobility, of one mind
| Acolytes, servants who revel in this darkness
| And the chaos it breeds
| Hordes of formless, swarming in chaos
| Penumbral, foreboding, darkening the skies
| Ecliptic, noxious malevolence
| A sickening hum churns the bowels
| Frenzied embodiment of my vile wrath
| Winged terror, pervasive, meandering, omnipresent
| Through manifold eyes I see
| Alien mutations not of any discernible entomological origin
| Distorted by time, will, forced evolution into
| Minions of the blackest bidding
| With an uncanny precision they seek prey
| To consume the remnants, a failed world’s stead
| Feeding on the detritus, victims not yet dead
| Reaving last vestiges of expiring life
| Amongst cinders deafening, the roar of their inevitability
| Glinting under a fleeting gaze of a rotting sun as it steps from hiding
| Smoke obscured, for a brief moment
| Reddened as if stung by the acrid scent of death
| Dipping back behind its veil in refusal of
| The maelstrom taking place |
