I only slept three hours, after I’d been up for 48
I rolled over to hold my love, then realized I was all alone
I decided to get up, because I heard the Postal Service
And that was something she never shared with me
She probably was just outside smoking a cigarette
I took off my high heels and looked around the suite
But I had to take a piss first, that’s when I saw her in the bathtub
There’s no way to describe the sense of dread
When you’re not sure if the person you love the most is still alive or dead
She was just floating there
Her eyes were closed but her mouth was full of water
My heart stopped I dropped to my knees and got her out
I couldn’t understand, was this something that she had planned?
How could she
do this to herself and
To all of us?
