Stuck in a children’s hospital
I prayed I’d die before I got old
In my sleep I tore out my IV
And bled all over my bedsheets
The walls were a pretty peppermint green
When my family came to visit me
But it didn’t make me happy
Six in a hay barn I lost my soul
I could barely breathe on the bus ride home
The steroids they used to medicate
Made my body hurt and I gained weight
As a kid I felt so ugly
I didn’t know what the doctors had done to me
To this day I curse this body
And I read steroids can trigger bipolar disorder when you’re young
And now I know why I can not have fun
I know why I can not feel loved
I know why I miss being young
