| The sights I’ve seen and the fights that there’s been
| And now I can’t believe what I am seeing
| After so much pain and so much gain
| This wild dog now admits it’s finally been tamed
| I can recall standing so proudly and defiant
| Just a small man against an evil twisted giant
| But soon more came and at least it did look to me
| That a new dawn was coming, the dawn of the free
| Drowning in the tears of this dying race
| I take a final look around this glorious place
| Now my last goodbye as I turn and walk away
| I did the best I could but I couldnt save the day
| Victory after victory thats how our river flows
| But one day a battles lost, thats how this story goes
| And I watched the heads go down, friends turn and walk away
| And I watched a darkened cloud descend upon our day
| So now Im standing all alone and I am wondering why
| So many of our kind can watch our nation die
| Now I’ll roam forever sad and so ashamed
| And the honest truth is, we are all to blame |
