| (When we look back on our lives
| Will we be satisfied with what we’ve become?
| Did we find love?
| I know we’ve all been victims of tragedy and diversity
| But the real question
| Will we be okay?)
| 16 when he met the girl
| The person who’d be making me
| 22 he played his job
| Supporting his family
| Here comes another dream
| Had two kids and got married
| He said oh god, it’s happening
| I was five when he moved out
| Me and my brothers dead (?)
| Now the girl was too stressed out
| She took us and moved away
| Downtown it seemed like I was
| The new kid everyday
| I felt like a stray, and so i’d pray
| I’d say
| Oh my god please help me
| I was six when I was first left
| On my own
| The girl was sick, a baby on the way
| So the stepdad had to go
| Dropped me off at the apartment
| Or watched roomate didnt show (?)
| I slept alone, outside on my own
| Then there on out I took a vow
| Looking out for baby brother and me
| Moved back in with him
| It was easier to breathe
| Next thing you know
| I was already turned fifteen
| High school flew like a breeze
| I’m twenty chasing a dream
| And so I said
| Oh my god, I’m somebody
| Not looking back to the bad
| The good times let them roll
| Let’s make some memories so rad
| We’ll remember when we’re old
| And when you look back to your past
| Your story won’t be untold
| It will be like gold
| Better as time goes
| Life pases you by
| it’s just like I was five
| the other day
| Slow or fast
| It’s weird how time
| Slips away
| Mom and dad are so proud of how
| We turned out in this way
| Well I am okay
| What else can I say?
| But oh my god I survived okay
| Oh thank god I’m okay
| (Okay Okay Okay) |
